The biggest event since the 1984 Olympics: Banja Luka hosted a tennis spectacle

 

For the first time, Banja Luka hosted the ATP tournament from the 250 series, which is certainly the biggest sports event in the country since the Olympics in 1984.

From April 16 to 23, tennis fans had the opportunity to watch top tennis matches. Marvelous Dušan Lajović was the winner of this tournament, where the best tennis player in the world, Novak Đoković, played, as well as many other famous tennis players such as Stanislas Vavrinka, Gaël Monfils, Borna Ćorić, Laslo Đere, Filip Krajinović, Miomir Kecmanović and Damir Džumhur.

For the purpose of holding this tournament, Banja Luka built the most contemporary sports complex, which includes a multifunctional hall with 6,000 seats, while the “Mladen Stojanović” Park was completely reconstructed.

In addition to a 1.2 km track, an open-air gym, a new promenade and other accompanying facilities, a new modern children’s playground was also built in the Park. Also, over 300 hundred new trees were planted.
