At the first session of the newly constituted City Assembly held on January 5th, the Mayor Draško Stanivuković and the City councilors took the solemn oath, while Mladen Ilic from SNSD party  (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats) has been elected the new Chair of the Banja Luka City Assembly, presenting Banja Luka with the youngest leadership in its history. In addition, Sasa Čudic, representing national minorities, has been elected vice-chair of the City Assembly.

Congratulating the youngest elected Chair of the City Assembly, Mayor Draško Stanivuković said that he was certain that they would have excellent cooperation, and that eventually, they would prove to the citizens of Banja Luka what young people could do.

– Banja Luka has got the youngest leadership and a historic chance. As far as I am concerned, the door is open and I want to show that young people are not hostages of different politics and certain differences that exist, but it will be a motive to always find solutions and work further – said Stanivuković.

As he pointed out, he was positive that it would be the same with the young Chair of the City Assembly. The Chair of the City Assembly, Mladen Ilić, said that the first session passed very well, and that he hoped it would continue in the same manner in order to respond to all the citizens in the best way, who gave their support to the new Assembly.
